Brandon Peters

A lifelong resident of Central-Pennsylvania, Brandon is committed to enhancing our shared communities by making them a better place to live, work, and recreate! Brandon graduated with honors from Shippensburg University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in History. He returned to Shippensburg University to complete his Master of Public Administration in 2012. In March 2014, Brandon joined the Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission (SAP&DC). There, he has led efforts in business development through government procurement assistance and in transportation planning. Most recently, he is serving as the Director for the Planning & Community Development Division.

Brandon’s most extensive experience is in working with federal, state, and local partners on project development and coordination, as well as leveraging public and private funds, particularly for projects relating to infrastructure. He leads the Southern Alleghenies Rural Planning Organization (RPO), a federally designated entity charged with planning and programming for transportation projects in Bedford, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset Counties. Since 2017, Brandon has successfully led efforts to change classification of portions of U.S. 219 to a Critical Rural Freight Corridor and ultimately to enhance its completion priority status for Pennsylvania.
