PACE is an important part of making Maryland’s political leadership aware of the needs and the specific requests of Allegany and Garrett Counties. This effort is vital in the process of deciding which programs and projects will be included in the State budget.
The reception on Thursday evening and the breakfast on Friday morning provide the Western Maryland Delegation with a strong demonstration of community support for the issues they advance during the legislative session. Since the inception of PACE in 1976, countless projects have been funded to benefit the citizens of Allegany and Garrett Counties.
TGCC has been an active partner in promoting and attending PACE events for the duration of our history as an organization. In addition to the reception on Thursday evening and the breakfast on Friday morning, TGCC has organized individual meetings with key members of the Governor’s Cabinet to discuss specific initiatives outlined in our annual work plan. The relationships built through this mechanism have been instrumental in advancing our mission to build a vibrant regional community.
