Ashli Workman
Ashli Workman is the Director of Tourism for Allegany County, the Mountain Side of Maryland, a sub-division within County Economic Development and the official Destination Marketing Organization for Allegany County, MD. Allegany County Tourism enhances the quality of life in Allegany County, Maryland, and strengthens destination awareness through promotion, development, and services that attract visitors to stay longer and spend more in our community. Under her leadership, the destination reemerged into the marketplace through a rebranding initiative, relaunched a new website – www.mdmountainside.com, garnered national media coverage in placements such as Southern Living, Travel Channel, Men’s Journal, and MSN Travel.
Ashli is a marketing professional with over 13 years of marketing and tourism experience. Ashli began her career in marketing and hospitality in 2006 with Wisp Resort in Garrett County, Maryland. In 2008, Ashli pursued an opportunity with Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, a Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond property in Farmington, Pennsylvania. As the Director of Marketing and PR for the resort, Workman was a key driver in the successful effort to secure ABC’s 'The Bachelorette' to Nemacolin in 2016. This international public relations opportunity showcased the resort, developed and enhanced brand awareness for Nemacolin, and generated short and long-term financial gains for the enterprise.
Ashli graduated from Frostburg State University in 2008. She and her office were the recipient of two statewide awards including ‘Best New Website’ (2019) and ‘Best Cooperative Partnership’ (2020) awards. She was named one of Allegany Magazine's 2019 “Women Who Mean Business” and is a 2020 graduate of Leadership Allegany!
